A new study published in Clinical Infectious Diseases, finds that subjects who receive the seasonal influenza vaccine are more than 5.5 times more likely to contract respiratory illnesses than a non-vaccinated subject. The study used a double-blind placebo controlled trial using a genuinely inactive placebo as a stand-in for the flu vaccine. Most vaccine trials actually use active placebos, which are substances that include ingredients used in the vaccines, making the studies meaningless – though this fact is almost never revealed in write-ups. Overall the study showed flu vaccines provided no benefits, they caused a huge increase in the number of respiratory illnesses and it even caused harm to the innate cell-mediated immune response, which results in a significant increase in infectious disease incidents.
